Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 26 August 2026

We want The Oakhill Inn and it's website to be easy to use for as many people as possible. We are working to make content clear, navigation straightforward and the site usable with common assistive technologies and on mobile devices.
WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY

We continuously work to ensure our website is usable with common assistive technologies and mobile devices.

Features & Improvements:

  • Accessibility Plugin: We run an accessibility widget on our website, allowing users to customize text size, contrast, and navigation preferences according to their needs.
  • Readable Design: We use clear headings, high-contrast readable text, and descriptive link labels.
  • Image Alt-Text: We aim to provide text alternatives for all informative images.
  • Mobile Compatibility: Pages and external booking links are optimized for mobile devices and tablets.

Known Limitations:

Our online table and room booking systems are managed by external third-party providers (such as eviivo). While we select partners who prioritize user experience, some accessibility features within these portals remain outside our direct control. If you encounter any difficulty booking online, please call or email us directly and we will gladly process your reservation manually.

PHYSICAL ACCESS

As a historic 19th-century building, our premises present certain physical characteristics that guests with mobility requirements should be aware of before arriving:

  • Parking & Arrival: We have an on-site customer car park located at the side of the inn, providing a relatively level approach to the main entrance.
  • Bar, Restaurant & Gardens: The ground-floor pub, bar, dining areas, and garden spaces feature level access over traditional timber and flagstone flooring. Tables can easily be rearranged to accommodate wheelchairs or walking aids.
  • Accessible Facilities: Accessible ground-floor toilet facilities are available for all pub and restaurant guests.
  • Guest Accommodation: All five of our boutique bedrooms are located on the first floor and are accessible via a central staircase only. Due to the age and structural layout of the building, we unfortunately do not have a lift or ground-floor bedrooms.
  • Assistance Dogs & Staff Support: Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the inn. Our team is always available to help with luggage, seating arrangements, or any specific mobility requirements.
FEEDBACK & VISITING ASSISTANCE
  • If you need help planning your visit, require information in an alternative format, or experience any accessibility issues on our website, please get in touch below.

We aim to respond to all accessibility enquiries within 2 working days and will always do our utmost to accommodate your requirements.
