The Oakhill Inn is a peaceful place to unwind, restore your spirit, and share good times with family and friends. At its heart lies the simple joy of serving up the very best – where fine wine, seasonal dining, and good company come together naturally.

A village staple since 1802

The Oakhill Inn has been welcoming travellers and locals on the Bath Road for well over two centuries. Originally built in the heyday of the village’s brewing history, the inn remains what a proper Somerset pub should be: a place of old-stone warmth, roaring log fires, and real conversation.

...with a few modern upgrades

Today, Wayne and the team run the inn with a simple philosophy – uncrowded hospitality, serious local food, and a genuine Somerset welcome. Whether you’re catching up with locals over a pint, sitting down to a hearty dinner with loved ones, or kicking off your boots after a hike across the Mendips, we're here to make sure you feel instantly at home. No pretension, just great food, good drinks, and a place to linger a while.

Recognised for Quality & Hospitality

We take immense pride in doing things properly—and we are honoured to be recognised for it. The Oakhill Inn holds an AA 4-Star Inn rating alongside a coveted AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence. For beer lovers, our cellar is proudly accredited by Cask Marque, guaranteeing that every pint of real ale is kept, poured, and served in peak condition.Coupled with our TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Award, you can step through our doors confident in a standout pint, an exceptional meal, and a warm West Country welcome.
